In short
- Life insurance with living benefits pays your family if you pass away and also releases money to you while you're alive.
- Living benefits pay out for a critical illness (cancer, heart attack, stroke), a chronic illness or a terminal illness, according to the policy.
- On the policies we offer, these benefits are included at no extra cost.
When it pays while you're alive
Regular life insurance only pays when you pass away. This one includes three extra benefits, already built into the policy, that release money while you're living.
Critical illness
Cancer, heart attack, stroke, kidney failure and other serious illnesses listed in the policy.
Chronic illness
When you can no longer do everyday tasks on your own, like bathing or dressing, or in cases like Alzheimer's.
Terminal illness
When a doctor gives a short life expectancy, you can access a large part of your coverage early.
The amount available depends on the diagnosis and the policy terms. What you use while living is deducted from what your family would receive later.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a green card?
Not necessarily. Many people living in the U.S. apply with a valid passport and an ITIN (the Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, for those without a Social Security number). The insurance company makes the final decision; your agent will check your case.
Do living benefits cost extra?
On the policies we offer, the critical, chronic and terminal illness benefits are included at no extra cost.
How much does it cost?
It depends on your age, health, coverage amount and whether you smoke. That's why we ask for your date of birth and gender: the agent calls with a price range in mind.
Can I use the money any way I want?
Yes. The money released while you're living is yours: treatment, rent, mortgage or household bills.
Which insurance company backs my policy?
We currently represent National Life Group, Foresters Financial, American National, Mutual of Omaha and Pan-American Life, all insurance companies with over 100 years in business. The company's name is on your quote before you sign, and your agent explains why it's the best fit for your case.
Does filling out the form mean I have to buy?
No. The form only lets an agent contact you and show you your options. You decide afterwards.
